Four Strategic Agreements from the First Coordination Meeting of the East Sumba ATM Task Force

MALARIA PERDHAKI – WAINGAPU. The First Coordination Meeting of the ATM Task Force (AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria) of East Sumba Regency, held at the Umbu Tipuk Marisi National Hall, Waingapu, on Tuesday (December 2), resulted in several key strategic agreements.

The meeting also agreed to optimize the use of Village Funds through Village Regulations (Perdes) to support screening activities, education programs, and cadre operations as part of a more focused and sustainable integrated movement for ATM control.

Another important agenda item focused on the strengthening of cross-sector data management.

The local government emphasized the need for data synchronization among the Health Office, community health centers (puskesmas), sub-districts, villages, and development partners to ensure that ATM-based policies are formulated using valid and accurate information. Puskesmas were asked to reinforce reporting systems, sub-district heads to ensure the flow of information reaches villages, and partners such as PERDHAKI to maintain the accuracy of field data.

The strategic agreements from the coordination meeting include:

  1. All villages in East Sumba Regency are encouraged to formulate Village Regulations (Perdes) on ATM control, or at a minimum, each sub-district is to establish one model village implementing such regulation.
  2. The government and all stakeholders agreed to implement an Integrated Action Plan as a collaborative guideline for cross-sector efforts in controlling AIDS, TB, and malaria.
  3. The Government of East Sumba Regency committed to replicate and adopt proven best practices in ATM control and to promote the application of new innovations throughout its service areas.
  4. All stakeholders encouraged the establishment of ATM Task Force Teams at village and sub-district levels to strengthen the tiered working structure.
