SSR Baitul Maqdis Holds Village Discussion, Invites Community to Participate in Malaria Elimination

MALARIA PERDHAKI–TAMBRAUW. SSR Yayasan Baitul Maqdis held a Village Discussion in Kwoor Village, Sausapor District, Tambrauw Regency, Southwest Papua Province last week.

Program Manager of SSR Yayasan Baitul Maqdis, Yogo Sadewo, explained that in this village discussion Perdhaki involved all elements of the village community, including malaria cadres and cadre assistants.

“In this discussion, the community is invited to understand the causes of malaria and how to prevent it. Through this effort, we encourage community involvement in malaria elimination efforts,” said Yogo on Monday (1/3).

According to him, in the village discussion method, the community does not only act as listeners. They are also actively encouraged to share the problems they face related to malaria elimination efforts.

“The efforts carried out by SSR Baitul Maqdis are part of routine activities. Through this approach, malaria elimination efforts can be implemented in a more contextual way according to the challenges faced by each village,” Yogo added.

For your information, the Village Discussion method has become one of the key strategies of Malaria Perdhaki in malaria elimination efforts. This approach is implemented by every SR and SSR unit across various regions.
