World AIDS Day: Perdhaki Jayapura & Nabire Participate Directly in Local Government Activities

MALARIA PERDHAKI – JAYAPURA. The Perdhaki Program, through Perdhaki Jayapura and Nabire, actively participated in the Open Public Outreach on HIV/AIDS Transmission and Prevention to commemorate World AIDS Day 2025 on December 1, 2025.
The Program Manager of SSR Yayasan Putri Kerahiman Papua (Yapukepa) 2, Tomi Aliljaman, stated that in this activity the Perdhaki Program took part in distributing ribbons and actively joined the series of events organized by the Jayapura Regency Government.
“This involvement reflects Perdhaki’s commitment to supporting prevention efforts, response actions, and the improvement of public awareness regarding HIV/AIDS in Jayapura Regency,” said Tomi.

He added that cross-sector collaboration during the World AIDS Day commemoration in Jayapura provided a positive signal for strengthening efforts to address HIV/AIDS issues, particularly in the district.
A similar commitment was shown by Perdhaki Nabire through SSR Yayasan Kristus Sahabat Kita (YKSK) Nabire, together with the Kader Perkasa, who also participated in activities organized by the Nabire Regency Government.
YKSK Nabire Program Manager, Thomas Arakian, explained that a total of 20 Kader Perkasa took part in the event.
“Participants included seven cadres from Kimi Health Center, three from Siriwini Health Center, three from Karang Mulia Health Center, and seven from Nabire Kota Health Center. Other cadres were unable to attend due to travel constraints but were given the opportunity to join the World AIDS Day activities,” said Thomas.
Thomas further noted that the Nabire Regency Government and cross-sector partners voiced their commitment to addressing HIV/AIDS issues through a symbolic hand-holding activity representing collaboration and joint action.
The activities carried out by teams in Jayapura and Nabire further demonstrate Malaria Perdhaki’s concrete commitment to addressing HIV/AIDS, particularly through the implementation of the Kader Perkasa Program, which serves as the frontline movement in strengthening the integration of AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria (ATM) programs.
