After the event, the Regent expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Perdhaki for their hard work in tackling malaria in Keerom. "Thank you to all parties who have partnered with the government in developing this region. In Keerom, the Annual Parasite Incidence (API) rate is quite high across Indonesia; since 2016, Keerom has ranked first with 431 malaria cases per 1,000 inhabitants. I convey my highest appreciation to Perdhaki, as well as to all involved parties—communities, TNI-Polri, state-owned enterprises, community health centers, health workers, and malaria cadres down to the villages," he said.

The Regent reminded that the goal of achieving zero malaria cases is expected to be realized nationally. "We know that Papua is a malaria-endemic area, which is why I attended this closing event to show support for Perdhaki, the malaria cadres, and to encourage and motivate them that this is an important activity aimed at reducing malaria cases. Hopefully, by 2025, according to their target schedule, Keerom can achieve zero cases," he concluded. Meanwhile, the Head of SR Perdhaki for the Jayapura I Diocese Region, Erhardus Desa, MA, stated that the Malaria Cadre Jamboree is one of the activities carried out by Perdhaki to provide motivation and commitment to the malaria cadres to work towards the successful implementation of the program, from the regional level up to the central level.

“Through this activity, in small groups, we provide training so that participants understand the ins and outs of malaria, how to administer injections, how to give medication, and also master their tasks well, possessing correct and comprehensive knowledge about malaria, as well as the necessary skills to deliver services properly,” he said. The Malaria Cadre Jamboree was attended by 272 participants from five districts in the Skanto to Arso Timur region. It is scheduled that this year Perdhaki will hold similar activities in the Ubrub, Senggi, Waris areas, and their surroundings.
