Realizing Cross-Sector Commitment, Ngadulanggi Village Designated as a Pilot Village in Nggaha Ori Angu District

MALARIA PERDHAKI – EAST SUMBA. Stakeholders in Ngadulanggi Village, Nggaha Ori Angu District, East Sumba Regency, have officially strengthened their synergy to accelerate the elimination of AIDS, TB, and Malaria (ATM). During a meeting held on Wednesday (04/03/2026), the Ngadulanggi Village Government, Nggoa Health Center, and SSR Dekenat Waingapu affirmed their shared commitment through several strategic actions.

As a concrete manifestation of this commitment, the first step taken was the establishment of a Working Forum or ATM Response Team. This team is prepared to serve as the frontline in monitoring and addressing ATM at the village level.

The Head of Ngadulanggi Village, Andrias K. Anggung Praing, emphasized his support by integrating the team’s operational budget into the Village Fund Allocation (ADD) on a sustainable basis.

In line with the village’s commitment, the Nggoa Community Health Center (Puskesmas Nggoa) is present as a technical partner to ensure that every action is carried out according to medical standards. Technical support is provided through intensive training for assistants and supervision of health standards for cadres and task force teams so that they possess accurate early detection capabilities.

Nggoa Health Center has also committed to routinely monitoring case developments in the village area. In addition, the health center guarantees immediate medical follow-up for every identified ATM case.

The alignment between village budget policies and medical technical readiness is what makes Ngadulanggi Village worthy of becoming a reference. Fransiscus Y. Bayu Bebo, Project Manager (PM) of SSR Dekenat Waingapu, expressed high appreciation for this harmonious collaboration. “With the integration of village funds and technical assistance from the health center, we officially designate Ngadulanggi Village as a Pilot Village in Nggaha Ori Angu District,” said Fransiscus.

He added that this cooperation model should serve as a catalyst for other villages. “This is the true essence of cross-sector collaboration: accelerating early detection and delivering rapid responses to public health issues.”

The meeting concluded with a broader vision of making Ngadulanggi a health-resilient village. Through the presence of the ATM Task Force Team, fully supported by funding and expert personnel, it is hoped that no cases will be handled too late. Furthermore, community awareness in preventing infectious diseases is expected to increase significantly for a healthier future for East Sumba.
